Ms. McHale began at MMI Preparatory School as a long-term substitute in 2018. Ms. McHale was officially appointed as a full-time faculty member for the 2018-2019 school year and will continue to serve as the 8th grade Science instructor, 10th grade Chemistry instructor, and AP Chemistry instructor. Prior to joining the MMI faculty, she served as an adjunct professor in the chemistry department at both the University of Scranton and Wilkes University. Ms. McHale also held adjunct positions at Misericordia University, Luzerne County Community College, and Marywood University.
Ms. McHale’s industry experience included serving as an Associate Scientist at WuXi AppTec in Philadelphia, PA and a Lab Technician/Analytical Consultant for YOH Scientific at Sanofi Pasteur in Swiftwater, PA.
“Every chance taken presents another chance for opportunity.” McHale said, “I was fortunate to have parents and mentors along the way who continually encouraged me to take chances, step outside of my comfort zone, and embrace opportunities. Following my return from Philadelphia, I seized the opportunity to teach at the college level and now at MMI. Interacting with my students on a daily basis affords me a glimpse into their worlds, their concerns and their challenges. Each student has unique qualities and may learn at a different pace than their peers. My goal is to recognize their individualities and encourage my students to challenge themselves knowing there will be multiple opportunities in their future if they are willing to work hard.”
She currently resides in Wilkes Barre, PA. Ms. McHale has a love for the beach and summer activities. She is also passionate in the fight to end breast cancer and participates in walkathons and fundraising activities for the American Cancer Association, a project close to her heart due to her cousin’s diagnosis of breast cancer at a young age.
