MMI Preparatory School’s trivia team placed first at Penn State University’s German Day 2015 competition, which was held April 16 in State College.
Eric Kabitzke, Zachary Heckrote, Andreas Boosalis, Samanta Cottone, Sarah Moyer, Brian Driscoll, Evan Dryfoos, Garrett Kost, Samuel Sessock, and Lucas Smith represented MMI at the event. Kost and Sessock also finished first and second, respectively, in poetry reading and Moyer came in third in spelling. The students are taught by MMI World Language Instructor Gabriela Moustardas.
The Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures at Penn State University hosts the annual event. It is a day filled with German language activities, including a poster and movie competition, a spelling bee, poetry recitation, and a German trivia game. Students also had the opportunity to practice their German and earn prizes, learn more about studying German at Penn State, visit a German language class, and get a tour of the campus lead by current undergraduate students.
