The University of Pennsylvania will present a free mock admissions committee workshop to help area families and local college/school counselors learn more about the admissions process at selective universities on Sunday, May 1 at 3:00 P.M. in the Joseph A. Turri ’45 Library and Learning Center on MMI’s campus at 154 Centre Street in Freeland.

Jordan Pascucci, associate dean of admissions at the University of Pennsylvania, will lead this mock college application program designed to help high school students and their families during the college search and application process. College counselors and educators will also find this session useful.

During this engaging and candid workshop, attendees will discover what goes into an admissions decision at a highly selective college or university. The workshop will explore the many factors and competing priorities that guide an admissions office as it admits a class.

Stephanie Shandra Swietnicki, MMI college counselor, said, “As a college preparatory school, we have students each year that are admitted to highly selective universities like the University of Pennsylvania, but navigating the admissions process is not always easy. It’s our pleasure to be able to host an event that can help students and families understand college admissions.”

The event is being presented by MMI Preparatory School as part of the Community Event Series and is open to the public. To register for the workshop, please visit key.admissions.upenn.edu/register/MMIs16. For more information, contact MMI Preparatory School at 570-636-1108.
