Wall of Fame Class of 2007
Mr. Edgar A. Gower, Sr., was a dedicated mathematics teacher at MMI from 1956 to 1993. He genuinely enjoyed teaching at MMI and was always proud of his students and their achievements. During his 37-year tenure, Mr. Gower served as Math Department chairman, baseball coach and class advisor. He was also moderator of various clubs including the Mathematics Club and the Mechanical Drawing Club. Mr. Gower encouraged his students to enter numerous math competitions and helped prepare them for success resulting in several championship teams. An excerpt from the 1991 Minamek addressed the impact that he had on his students – “Mr. Gower will be remembered for the great pains he took to insure that everyone completely understood the problem at hand before attacking the next one.”
