MMI Preparatory School is opening its doors to area students who wish to have an educational, yet fun summer experience at the annual MMI Summer Camps planned for June and July. The school has announced the lineup of camps that range from programs such as junior filmmaking, messy arts, electronics, Lego Maniacs, and model airplanes, just to mention a few. A full list of the camps and dates are listed below.
MMI faculty, Sciensational Camps, and Box of Light will lead summer camps on MMI’s campus at 154 Centre Street, Freeland. Space is limited, so interested parents are urged to contact Marci Hosier at 570-636-1108 before June 1.
Each summer camp is held over five days, runs three hours each day, and only costs $150. Parents may sign their child up for multiple camps and children attending two camps in one day should bring their lunch and will be supervised between sessions.
The camps June 15 to 19 are Asian Arts Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.) and Printmaking camp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.). June 22 to 26: Messy Art Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.), Magical Science Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.), Junior Filmmaker Camp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.), and Step STOMP Dance Camp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.). July 6 to 10: Scrapbook Studio Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.), Drawing Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.), Make It and Take It Home Science Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.), Up, Up, and Away Camp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.), Electronics Lab Camp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.), Beginning Watercolor Camp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.), and School of Rock Summer Program (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.). July 13-17: Robotics Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.), Lego Maniacs and Claymation Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.), Fashion Mag Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.), Bookmaking Bootcamp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.), Minecraft Film Camp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.), and MeTube Camp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.). July 20 to 24: Model Airplanes, Building Bridges, and Electronics Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.), “Frozen” in July Camp (9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.), Hovercrafts, Bridge Building, and Egg Drop Car Camp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.), and Fairy Tales from Around the World Camp (12:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M.).
