Baseball
MMI’s middle school baseball team offers students the chance to develop fundamental skills while playing exhibition games against local schools. This program introduces players to the expectations of MMI’s baseball team and prepares them for future varsity play. Boys’ Basketball
The middle school boys’ basketball team competes in the highly competitive Anthracite League, facing off against schools from the Hazleton Area and Holy Family. This experience provides a strong foundation for athletes aiming to succeed at the varsity level. Girls’ Basketball
Playing in the Anthracite League, MMI’s middle school girls’ basketball team faces Hazleton Area Middle Schools. The 2023-24 team showed promise, reaching the play-in round of the League Playoffs. Cheerleading
In addition to our regular sports teams, opportunities exist for middle and upper school students to join the Cheerleading Squad! The MMI Cheerleading Squad consists of enthusiastic, dynamic, fun, and hardworking students whose mission is to represent the school with a spirit of support for teams and fans of the MMI community. Performances range from halftime performances at basketball games to pep rallies. The Cheerleading Squad is open to all students in grades 8-12.

Soccer
Since its inception in 2014, MMI’s middle school soccer program has focused on preparing athletes for varsity competition. The team plays a 14-game Wyoming Valley Conference schedule, with additional exhibition matches. This program continues to be a pipeline of talent for our varsity team. Launching in the Fall 2024, our inaugural middle school volleyball team competes in the Wyoming Valley Conference. This new program focuses on skill development and introduces players to the game, creating a feeder system for MMI’s varsity volleyball team.
