Dr. Brian G. Brazzo ‘84 has led a remarkable career as an Ophthalmologist and Facial Plastic Surgeon. Following his graduation from MMI as Valedictorian, Dr. Brazzo earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Neurobiology and is a graduate of Harvard Medical School. He spent three years of specialty training and attained the highest standing in the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Dr. Brazzo currently practices as a board-certified ophthalmologist and his practice at the New York Eye Surgery Center involves the most advanced techniques in ophthalmic plastic surgery. Dr. Brazzo is an attending surgeon at both the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and the New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Brazzo served as Director of Oculoplastic Services, Department of Ophthalmology at both Lincoln Hospital and Maimonides Medical Center and was named Honorary Surgeon by the City of New York Police Department. Dr. Brazzo has been published in countless scientific journals and has completed a tremendous amount of research in his field with his latest work focusing on orbital tumors. He also authored a number of chapters for textbooks including the Textbook of Ophthalmology and Smith’s Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Brazzo is also a well-known lecturer in his field and was recognized as an expert for a number of national and local news broadcasts including CNN and NBC.
