Mrs. Katherine Zucco joined the MMI family in 2008 as the history teacher and she teaches classes in World Geography, Ancient Civilizations, World History, Advanced Placement European History, and Modern American History. Mrs. Zucco currently serves as the Student Assembly Coordinator and previously held administrative roles as the Social Sciences Department Chair and the Associate Dean for the Middle School.

Mrs. Zucco also is the Advisor for students interested in developing business-professional skills in the MMI Future Business Leaders of America Club, and serves on the Pennsylvania FBLA State Executive Committee.

“My goal is to create thought-provoking and meaningful lessons about history, and to find “teachable-moments” to guide students in making wise decisions in their own lives.  I imagine myself as a compass, navigating my students to discover their own passion for life-long learning, and I do that by facilitating the exchange of ideas as we journey into the past together.”

Mrs. Zucco has earned Awards of Excellence at the Global Education Symposium and the AP Summer Institute at Cabrini University. She has earned certification as a Clinical Educator Professional Teacher Certification, as well as certification in AI Instruction from the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Zucco is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society and the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society.

Mrs. Zucco resides in Drums with her husband, Antonio, their sons Dominic and Jackson, and their dog, Turbo. In her spare time, she enjoys reading historical literature, traveling the country, running, gardening, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her family and friends.
