Associate Dean for the Middle School / Social Sciences Instructor

Ms. Mara Zumchak joined the MMI faculty in 2021 as an instructor in the Social Sciences department and she currently teaches social studies and workshop skills for grades 6-8. In 2024, she was named Associate Dean of the Middle School. Ms. Zumchak is a co-Advisor for the Mock Trial Team and the Weightlifting Club.
An educator with nine years of experience teaching both middle and high school students, Ms. Zumchak has taught in the Dallas Area School District, at Wyoming Valley Montessori School, and at Saint Thomas the Apostle School. While at Saint Thomas, she was co-leader for the Middle States Accreditation Committee’s Visit and was a member of the Blue Ribbon Committee.
A native of Dallas, Ms. Zumchak now resides in Scranton. Her interests outside of education include reading, crafting, walking, fitness, shopping, hanging out with family, and enjoying NFL games (especially the Vikings), and NHL games.
