Families who are exploring middle school and upper school options for their children can learn more about the value of an MMI Preparatory School education during MMI’s fall Visitation Night on Wednesday, November 14.
Visitation Night, which begins at 6 p.m. on the school’s campus at 154 Centre Street in Freeland, gives students and parents an opportunity to explore the MMI campus and gain information about the advantages MMI offers to its students. The school’s educational philosophy focuses on developing well-rounded graduates with a strong liberal arts background, a mastery of 21st-century skills, and a strong sense of community.
The event will begin with a presentation by the school’s administration, where families will learn about how MMI gives students a chance to grow and thrive in an environment that focuses on preparing them for success in college and beyond. Parents and students will receive details about the school’s curriculum, including its Advanced Placement classes, as well as information on financial aid, athletics, and extracurricular activities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to talk with current students, parents, faculty, and staff.
“MMI Preparatory School has a long history of educating students who seek to optimize their full potential at an independent school. MMI offers high academic standards, small class sizes, a 9:1 student-to-faculty ratio, and a caring atmosphere that allows for plenty of individualized attention,” MMI Head of School D. Scott Wiggins said. “We invite families who are interested in a personalized educational experience for their child to come to Visitation Night and explore what MMI has to offer.”
Families of students entering sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grades next year are especially encouraged to attend Visitation Night and consider starting their child in MMI’s middle school or as a freshman, as several of the upper grade levels had wait lists last year.
MMI operates on the principle that a quality education should not be out of anyone’s financial reach. Currently, more than 50 percent of MMI students receive some form of need-based tuition assistance. The school offers generous financial aid packages to qualified families, provides merit aid for exceptionally gifted students, offers a summer work-study program, provides options for payment plans, and collaborates with outside firms to arrange for low interest student loans.
Additionally, students may also be eligible to earn a full academic scholarship to help with tuition costs based upon their performance on the entrance exam, which prospective students can take on Saturday, January 26, 2019.
Those planning to attend Visitation Night are asked to register and should arrive by 5:45 p.m. the night of the event. For more information or to register, contact Marci Hosier at mhosier@mmiprep.org or 570-636-1108.
