The MMI Preparatory School Board of Directors is excited to announce the establishment of
the Distinguished Young Alumni Awards. These awards are designed to celebrate the
remarkable achievements of our younger alumni who have distinguished themselves in
their professions and communities through the age of 30.

The inaugural ceremony for these Awards will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2024,
during MMI’s Alumni Weekend festivities. This occasion promises to be a memorable event
as we recognize the exceptional accomplishments of our first recipients and mark the
beginning of a new MMI tradition. Moving forward, this Ceremony will alternate on an
every-other-year cycle with the MMI Wall of Fame.

Nominations for these awards are open now and will be accepted until the submission
deadline of Friday, March 1. We invite nominations from all sources within our community
including from parents, friends, employers, and self-nominations. Nominations should
include a resume or CV and a letter of nomination, not exceeding 500 words. This letter
should succinctly summarize the nominee’s achievements and provide insights into their
qualifications, highlighting any personal perspectives not readily apparent in their resume.

Additionally, attachments such as reference letters, LinkedIn profiles, or articles
showcasing the nominee’s work and community impact are highly encouraged.
To ensure a fair and rigorous selection process, the Distinguished Young Alumni Awards
Committee is being assembled to review all nominations. The Committee is comprised of
eight members including the Chair of the MMI Board of Directors, the Head of School, a
current Board member, the Director of Advancement, the Director of College Counseling,
two alumni representatives, and one at-large member. The Committee will recommend a
slate of six to ten awardees to the MMI Board of Directors for approval. Nominations and
