Several MMI Preparatory School athletes received postseason honors for their outstanding play during the fall 2015 sports season.
Seniors Alyssa Famalette, Mikayla Dove, and Terrance Jankouskas and junior Keenan Overa were all selected to the Wyoming Valley Conference Soccer Coaches first team. Seniors Jay Solgama and Devon Faul and juniors Kevin Cibak and Dylan Slusser received WVC Soccer Coaches second team honors.
In girls’ volleyball, junior Dana Carrato and sophomore Gabriella Kupsho earned honorable mentions from the Wyoming Valley Conference Coaches Association.
Junior tennis player Elizabeth Pinto and sophomore golfer George Palermo were both Citizens’ Voice All-Star first team selections.
Famalette is the daughter of Anthony and Joann Famalette, Freeland; Dove is the daughter of Eric and Susan Dove, Mountaintop; Jankouskas is the son of Terry Jankouskas and Aprilaurie Whitley, Sugarloaf, and Overa is the son of Timothy and Lori Overa, Drums. Solgama is the son of Dr. Paresh and Arti Solgama, Mountaintop; Faul is the son of Toby and Shawna Faul, Freeland; Cibak is the son of James and Deidre Cibak, Sugarloaf, and Slusser is the son of Atty. Christopher Slusser, Sugarloaf, and Amy St. Pierre, Drums.
Carrato is the daughter of Dr. Anthony and Carmine Carrato, Hazleton, and Kupsho is the daughter of Dr. Robert and Diane Kupsho, Drums.
Pinto is the daughter of Karen Pinto, Mountaintop, and John Pinto, Maplewood, NJ. Palermo is the son of Mary Kelly Palermo, Sugarloaf, and George Palermo, Hoboken, NJ.
