MMI Preparatory School held a virtual awards ceremony to honor middle school students for their academic and athletic achievements.
During the ceremony, eighth graders Alexander Composto, Michael Kranyak, Lydia Chen, and Kendall Orozco were recognized as the American Legion Award winners, which is given to the top two girls and top two boys with the highest grade point average.
MMI also presented subject awards in each grade to the following students:
Sixth Grade – Simona Sickler (Social Studies and Music), Philip Benyo (Math and English), Avari DeAngelo (Science), Katelyn Gera (Fine Arts), and Ian Composto (Greek).
Seventh Grade – Caleb Skuba (Music), Cassidy McDermott (Latin I), Ava Genetti (Social Studies and English), Arushi Solgama (Math, Science, and Fine Arts), Dakota DeRegno (Health), and David Yamulla (Tech).
Eighth Grade – Alexander Composto (Social Studies and English), Scott O’Boyle (Music), Kendall Orozco Math and Latin II), Corey Buchman (Science), and Lydia Chen (Fine Arts).
Philip Benyo was honored for placing first in MMI’s Sixth Grade Science Fair for his presentation entitled “Drying with Zeolites.” Amanda Stoffa finished second for “Vinegar and Bone Flexibility” and Sharon Zhuang was third for “Radio Waves.”
Members of the middle school baseball team were honored for their participation during the 2021 season. Team members are: Frederick Blaine, Jozef Dovicak, Adam Frask, Benjamin Gombeda, Gabriel Horvath, Thomas Horvat, Michael Kranyak, Christopher Laverty, Nicholas Pantages, Evan Pedri, Bryce Radzwich, Christian Schultz, Caleb Skuba, and Joshua Witner.
Members of the middle school softball team were also recognized for their performance during the 2021 season. Team members are: Chloe Allen, Emily Borchick, Phoebe Bramley, Eve Corazza, Ruth Huey, Kaedyn Harrelson, Nora Hersheim, Danica Karlick, Mary Kupsky, Cassidy McDermott, Kendall Orozco, Yeleiny Paniagua, Silvia Roberto, Erica Schwear, Mia-Lyn van den Berg, and Madelyn Young.
