MMI Preparatory School Head of School Theresa Long is proud to announce that three MMI students have been recognized for their outstanding work in the Freeland American Legion Essay Contest. The annual American Legion Essay contest is open to any student enrolled in grades sixth through eighth in a public, private, parochial, or cyber charter school, or who is home schooled. This year’s essay topic was, “Can Social Media Affect Someone’s Life?”
Gabriel Horvath ’26 placed second, Alexis Bleiler ’26 placed third, and Kendall Orozco ’25 is being acknowledged for her participation. All three students received their awards on April 3 at a special event at the Freeland American Legion on Center Street.
In addition to their recognition at the local level, Gabriel and Alexis have been invited to attend the district award ceremony on April 27 at 2 PM at the Nanticoke American Legion.
“We are incredibly proud of Gabriel, Alexis, and Kendall for their effort in this year’s essay contest,” said Head of School Theresa Long. “Their success reflects the critical thinking, writing skills, and commitment to excellence that we encourage at MMI. It’s wonderful to see their hard work recognized by the community.”
MMI congratulates these students on their achievements and looks forward to seeing them continue to excel.
