Several MMI Preparatory School world language students attained national recognition for their excellent performance on the 2015 National Spanish Examinations.
MMI students earned a total of six silver and five bronze medals along with 11 honorable mentions from Spanish 1 through Spanish 4.
The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades 6 through 12, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. The honors are based on percentiles in competition with the more than 157,000 students who took the examination this year.
Angelica Alday and Gabriella Kupsho both earned Spanish 1 silver medals. Lauryn Banyas, Lauren Freeman, Anna Haber, Chava Kornblatt, Caelyn McGran, and Julia Snyder all received an honorable mention. In Spanish 2, Ali Aijaz, Kayla Leonard, and Allison McGeehan won silver medals, while Anirban Chowdhury, Nicholas Young, and Daniel Tron captured bronze medals. Dana Carrato, Gabriella DeMelfi, Joey Kress, and Kisan Patel each received an honorable mention.
Andrew Alday and Jay Solgama both won a bronze medal in Spanish 3. Claire Sheen took a silver medal in Spanish 4 and Emily Morrison received an honorable mention.
All the students were taught by MMI World Language instructor Dennis Clarke.
