MMI students place in the top three in Marywood University High School Math Contest
Two MMI Preparatory School students recently placed in the top three in their age division at the 2015 Marywood University High School Math Contest. Sophomore Ani Chowdhury captured first place in the Level 1 division (grades 9-10) and classmate Ali Aijaz finished third.
MMI students win Holocaust essay contest
Four MMI Preparatory School students won awards from the 20th Annual Israel T. and Mildred Klapper Memorial Holocaust essay contest. Morgan Long, son of David and Theresa Long, Drums, and Zachary Young, son of Christian and Nicole Young, Freeland, both tied for first place in the middle school division of the competition and will receive $200. In the high school division, Joshua Narrow, son of Howard and Marie Narrow, Hazleton, won first place and will receive $200, and Luke Yamulla, son of Robert and Ann Yamulla, Sugarloaf, won second place and will receive $100.

Senior Joseph Synoski was selected as one of WVIA’s visual Artists of the Week in December and more recently has learned he is also a contender to be Artist of the Year. Some of his best works are to be displayed at the Mainstreet Galleries in Kingston for the month of April.

Visiting chefs help prepare sustainable, healthier lunches
Continuing MMI Preparatory School’s focus on a more sustainable, healthier food program, the school hosted guest chefs Tuesday who crafted a special and healthy “build a sandwich” menu for the students. The guest chef program is part of the three-year plan undertaken by MMI Preparatory School to provide preferable food to student body and staff in a more sustainable manner.

Wister Quartet to perform at MMI on March 23
For the 12th consecutive year, MMI Preparatory School will host the Grammy-nominated Wister Quartet for a public performance at the school on Monday, March 23 at 7:00 P.M. The performance is made possible through the support of Dr. James W. Feussner ’65 in memory of Elizabeth Feussner.
