MMI senior Dominique Kline wins two awards in Scholastic Art & Writing Awards regional competition

MMI senior Dominique Kline received two awards in the regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition. Kline, the daughter of John and June Kline of Mountaintop, won a Silver Key for her poem, “no harmony in human NATURE” and was awarded an Honorable Mention for her poem “Notches on a Belt.” MMI English instructor Jennifer Novotney served as the advisor for the competition.

MMI purchases six circuit drawing pens with Exxon Mobil Educational Alliance grant from Onvo

MMI Preparatory School purchased six Circuit Scribe drawing pens and additional refills with a $500 Exxon Mobil Educational Alliance grant received from Onvo. The Circuit Scribe conductive ink pen, which contains actual liquid silver, offers instructors an innovative way of teaching how electricity and electronics work and gives students an immersive, hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) experience.

Jillian McGeehin will represent MMI at Poetry Out Loud regional competition

MMI Preparatory School sophomore Jillian McGeehin, the daughter of Larry and Amy McGeehin of Sugarloaf, won the School’s Poetry Out Loud competition and will represent MMI at the regional competition. Sophomore Annabel Dobash, the daughter of Gregory and Stacey Dobash of Mountaintop, was the runner-up. MMI English instructor Jennifer Novotney served as the faculty advisor.

Community Bank makes MMI EITC donation

Community Bank, N.A. makes $5,000 EITC donation to MMI Preparatory School

MMI Preparatory School recently received a $5,000 contribution from Community Bank, N.A. through the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program to go toward need-based scholarships at the school. MMI Director of Advancement Kim McNulty said, “On behalf of everyone at MMI Preparatory School, I’d like to thank Community Bank, N.A. for their generous contribution. Since 2005, MMI students have received nearly $3.8 million in scholarship support thanks to the contributions of many area companies. Parents and children invited to learn more about an MMI education at Visitation and Entrance Exam Day on Nov. 14

Parents and children are invited to learn more about an MMI education at the Visitation and Entrance Exam Day on Saturday, November 14 beginning at 9 a.m. on the MMI campus at 154 Centre Street in Freeland. Registration is required and is limited to the first 25 students. Visitation and Entrance Exam Day gives parents and students in grades 6 through 12 an opportunity to explore the school’s admissions process and meet other families who are also making an MMI decision.
