Community Bank, N.A. makes $5,000 EITC donation to MMI Preparatory School

MMI Preparatory School recently received a $5,000 contribution from Community Bank, N.A. through the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program to go toward need-based scholarships at the school. MMI Director of Advancement Kim McNulty said, “On behalf of everyone at MMI Preparatory School, I’d like to thank Community Bank, N.A. for their generous contribution. Since 2005, MMI students have received nearly $3.8 million in scholarship support thanks to the contributions of many area companies. Parents and children invited to learn more about an MMI education at Visitation and Entrance Exam Day on Nov. 14

Parents and children are invited to learn more about an MMI education at the Visitation and Entrance Exam Day on Saturday, November 14 beginning at 9 a.m. on the MMI campus at 154 Centre Street in Freeland. Registration is required and is limited to the first 25 students. Visitation and Entrance Exam Day gives parents and students in grades 6 through 12 an opportunity to explore the school’s admissions process and meet other families who are also making an MMI decision.

MMI Preparatory School announces plans for 2020-2021 school year

MMI Preparatory School will begin the 2020-2021 school year on September 8 at 8 a.m. with in-person instruction while simultaneously offering live-stream and recorded courses in a plan that was approved by the MMI Board of Directors. Faculty will return for the new school year on August 18.

MMI Preparatory School honors the Class of 2020 at 128th commencement ceremony

MMI Preparatory School honored the Class of 2020 during its 128th commencement ceremony on Tuesday, July 7. Seniors received their diplomas from MMI Head of School Justin Kleinheider and Chairman of the 2019-2020 Board of Directors John H. Hersker ’76. The ceremony was held in the MMI Gymnasium and was available via a live stream on MMI’s website for anyone to watch. This year’s graduating class of 28 seniors were accepted at more than 79 percent of the colleges they applied to and amassed more than $7.6 million in merit scholarships and awards.

MMI recognizes student athletes during 2020 Athletic Awards virtual ceremony

MMI Preparatory School recently held a virtual 2020 Athletic Awards ceremony to honor student athletes and their achievements during the 2019-2020 school year. MMI Head of School Justin Kleinheider opened the program with welcoming remarks and announced the award winners. During the ceremony, athletes received awards in the MVP, Most Improved, and Coach’s Award categories and varsity letter recipients were recognized. MMI team places third in Pennsylvania Foundation for Free Enterprise Stock Market Game

A team of five MMI Preparatory School eighth grade students placed third in the Foundation for Free Enterprise’s statewide Stock Market Game. Robert Orbin, Nathaniel Neidlinger, Ethan Lloyd, Leo Zvonik, and Corrigan Nolasco finished third in Pennsylvania and first in the east region with a relative return of 23.11 percent above the performance of the S&P 500 index, which measures the stock performance of 500 large companies listed on stock exchanges in the United States.

MMI students are continuing their education with online classes and capstone assessments

When it was announced that all Pennsylvania schools must close, MMI Preparatory School quickly adapted to an online learning schedule that focused on keeping its students engaged and connected to a sense of normalcy despite the uncertain times. MMI Head of School Justin Kleinheider noted that students are continuing their fourth quarter studies with online course work in core subjects and capstone assessments.
